FORMER SANDUSKIAN DIES AT KANSAS CITY

Capt. James E. Gregg, a native of Milan. O., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. F. Crawford, 1300 Prospect avenue, Kansas City, this week.Capt. Gregg was 70 years of age and had been in poor health for the past three years. He was a railroad and mining contractor and during the construction of the Kansas Pacific railroad he was paymaster. He was a soldier of the civil war, being a captain of Co. E., 8th Ohio volunteers, made up here. At the close of the war Capt. Gregg went west to Wyandotte, Kansas, was paymaster of the Kansas Pacific; later he was given the contract for the building of the Arkansas Central railroad. Afterward he engaged. He is survived by his widow, one son, Clark H. Gregg, of Denver; and one daughter, Mrs. G.F. Crawford, of Kansas City. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Crawford, at Kansas City, in charge of the G.A.R. Interment was made in Mount Washington cemetery at Kansas City.
