Violet C. Sears December 19, 1924 - May 17, 2008 PLAINFIELD - Violet C. Sears, 83, of 45 Main St., Died Saturday afternoon at Villa Maria Convalescent Home in Plainfield. She was born December 19, 1924 in New York City a daughter of the late John Alfred Vincent and Annabelle (Hewes) Clayton. Mrs. Sears had resided in Plainfield for most of her life. She attended Plainfield Grammar School and was a graduate of Plainfield High School. She and her late husband Thomas owned and operated The Plainfield Motel and P&M restaurant for 26 years. Mrs. Sears was twice married, first to Frederick Cone and later to Thomas P. Sears Jr. who died in 1982. She leaves her family, Thomas P. Sears III and his wife Carol of Norwich, Nanci Cone and Gillian Cone both of Ventura, CA., also two dear friends, Janet Lasnier of Moosup and Lorraine Wakely of Central village. The funeral and burial are private. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 106 Rt. 32, Franklin, CT., 06254, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, Plainfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
