David Raley Crown, age 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville.

David was born March 16, 1920 in Delaplaine, Arkansas to Abram J. Crown and Kitty J. (Raley) Crown. He married Madorah Alice Blood on December 2, 1978 in Mt. Carmel, IL. David worked for Pure Oil Company and also the State of Illinois as an oilfield pumper and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his loving wife: Alice Crown; two daughters: Davetta (Loren) Dunigan and Jennifer Pinnick; a son: Ralph (Adele) Crown; two sisters: Pearl Mahaney and Loula Watson; eight grandchildren: Cathy Croy, Kevin (Tasha) Crown, Trenton Pinnick, Abigail Pennick, Zachary David Pinnick, Lana Crown, Terry Crown, David Crown; six great-grandchildren: Tyson David Crown, Adam Croy, Jill Croy, Vanessa (Dustin) Pastrovich, Savannah, and Lily; and a great-great-grandchild: Kennedy Marie Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Lanny Crown, and two brothers: Robert Lee Crown and Abram Julian Crown.

A graveside service for David Crown will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at Foster Hill (Mt. Zion) Cemetery, Clay City.

Arrangements are being handled by Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora.

Memorial donations may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice of Vincennes, IN and will be received at the funeral home.
