William James Harkness, born August 18, 1914 in Latrobe, PA, went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2002 at age 88. Resident of La Verne for the past 14 years. Beloved husband for 65 years of Harriett Harkness, devoted father of Bill Jr. (Carol) Harkness, Bob (Pat) Harkness, Gail (Burton) Marshall. Dear grandfather of Tammy Benesch, Ron (Teri) Harkness, Teri, Tom Harkness, Bret (Susie) Marshall and Keith Marshall. Loving great grandfather to Jas on Benesch, Kristi & Steven Materio, Brandon & Brandi Harkness and new great grandchild due in Feb. 2003. Member of Temple City First Lutheran for over 30 years. Memorial Service, Tues., Nov. 5th, 11:00 A.M. at Temple City First Lutheran, 9123 E. Broadway, Temple City, CA. Graveside Service at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA. In lieu of flowers, family request donations in memory of William Harkness be made to First Lutheran Church of Temple City. .
