Ricardo was born in El Paso and lived there
all of his life.
He enlisted in the Marines 7 November 1967
at the El Paso Recruiting Office.He graduated
from the San Diego MCRD with Platoon 2213
in 1967.
Arriving in Vietnam 1 May 1968 where he was
assigned to Mike Company,3rd Battalion,4th
Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
While participating in Operation Scotland II
Mike Company engaged enemy forces in the
vicinity of Hill 552, about 5 kilometers west
southwest of Khe Sanh Airfield.
Ricardo died of fragmentation wounds to the
body,as a result of hostile mortar fire during
the fire fight.
Ricardo was single and served his country for
6 months and had been in Vietnam for only 26
days.KIA#28,671.
Ricardo was 20 years,8 months and 14 days
old.
