Sallie Kennedy Parker, affectionately known as “Miss Sallie” age 89 passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Collins native had lived in Reidsville most of her life moving to Glennville ten years ago. She retired from Hill’s Shopping Center after thirty two years of service. She loved going to the coast, spending time cooking; especially making pound cakes. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husbands, James Kennedy and Bennie Parker; sons, Jimmy Kennedy and Ronnie Kennedy; and a daughter, Cindy Durrence.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Alicia and Bobby Speer of Glennville; grandchildren, Mitchell (Mindy) Speer, Patience (Dwayne) Jenkins, Brian (Sloan) Kennedy, Michelle Scott, Heith (Candice) Durrence, Jim (Kacey) Kennedy and Jenny Kennedy; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Saturday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Sunday, September 7, 2014 from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the Reverends Marc Foster and David Moxley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Dwayne Jenkins, Brian Kennedy, Jim Kennedy, Tyler Speer, Tommy Bragg, and Charles Collins. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jack Hill.
