Ruth Stinson Leka, 85, of Springfield died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at her residence. She was born on June 12, 1901, in Beardstown, the daughter of George H. and Anna Buck Stinson. Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Mabel Stinson.

Mrs. Leka was a member of First United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Popular Piano Group and the Arthritis Four Plus One Club; member of the American Association of University Women; Morning Etude; Sigma Alpha Iota Sorority; Order of the Eastern Star; Daughters of the Nile; Illinois Retired Teachers Association; and the National Federation of Music Clubs. She was on the board of Springfield Community Concerts. Mrs. Leka was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and was a pianist. She taught piano both privately and in the Springfield public schools for 40 years.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd E. Leka, and one daughter, Penny Leka Knapp of New York City.

Services at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Roger Rominger officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
