Actor. He was an American actor of the 20th century. Born Dennis Linn Miller, he played basketball in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Baldwin, New York, before the family moved to Los Angeles. It was at University High School where he came to the attention of coach John Wooden and was given a full-ride scholarship to UCLA. In his senior year, while working as a furniture mover to pay for school, he was discovered on Sunset Boulevard by a talent agent, who signed him with MGM. His first role was a bit part in 'Some Came Running' (1958), then was cast as the first blond Tarzan in 'Tarzan, the Ape Man' (1959). He did guest spots on a number of TV series, finally becoming a regular on 'Wagon Train' as Duke Shannon from 1961 to 1964. In 1965-1966, he starred with Juliet Prowse in the sitcom 'Mona McCluskey'. Over the next several decades he appeared in more than two hundred TV episodes in such shows as 'Gunsmoke', 'The Fugitive', 'High Chaparral', 'Gilligan's Island', 'I Dream of Jeannie', 'The Brady Bunch', 'Alice' , 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century', 'Hawaii Five-O', 'Magnum, P.I.' and 'Quincy M.E.', and for fourteen years, he played the Gorton's Fisherman in TV commercials. Miller wrote an autobiography titled "Didn't You Used To Be...What's His Name?" and a book about obesity called "Toxic Waist?...Get To Know Sweat!"
