Staff Sergeant Harry Philip Peckham, served 12th Infantry Company, Fourth Armored Division. Son of Philip Henry Peckham "Chief Night Hawk" and Clara Frances Perry Peckham. Two sisters: Mary E. Peckham Coggswell and Clara J. Peckham. He studied three years at Eastern Nazarene College. Staff Sergeant Peckham was the first World War II casualty from Charlestown, Rhode Island killed on D-Day in Normandy. He was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe.
