Braxton Bevelle Comer, a daughter of Braxton Bragg Comer and the former Miss Eva Jane Harris, was born in the bounds of Comer Corners in Barbour County, Alabama on March 17th 1883. Her father, a prominent planter would later become Governor and U.S. Senator of the state.
