Florence, 96, was born to Frank Lopez and Juanita Martinez. She graduated from Ault High School in 1937 where she was Valedictorian. She married Joe Garcia on March 7, 1938. Florence worked as Clerk and Assistant Manager at Ben Franklin in Brighton for 12 years. She also worked as a Bookkeeper for Columbine Nursing Home in Denver for eight years, was a volunteer at the Brighton Senior Center for the last 14 years, volunteer for Warm Hearts, Warm Babies in Brighton and was a Campfire Leader and Den Mother for Cub Scouts in Brighton. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and St. Augustine Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing Dominos and card games with friends and making gambling trips. She loved crochet, quilting, embroidery, fishing and grafting. Survivors included: children Barbara (Truman) Clayton, Brighton, Charlotte Goodrow, Golden, Dale (Sauni) Garcia, Santa Fe, NM, Susan (Steve) O’Connor, Brighton; sister Letha Harsh, Broomfield; 13 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren. Preceding were husband Joe, 12 siblings, and one grandson. Mass of Christian Burial held September 19 at St. Augustine Church. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
