Romye's obituary lists two daughters: Mrs Merwin Silverthorn of Hayama, Japan, and Mrs R Lee Aston of Elberton, Georgia; two brothers: Norman N Burnes of Rome, Georgia, and Ross Burnes of Atlanta.
She graduated from the Alabama State Normal School (that's what they used to call teacher training schools) and taught in public schools in Alabama and Georgia. She came to Washington during World War I to work at the agricultural department.
She died at the Sleepy Hollow Nursing Home in Annandale.
