Willamina was the daughter of William Krull and Louise Laswell. About 1943 she married John Byrne in Louisville, Kentucky, and they had two children, John and Patricia. After John's World War II service in the Army Signal Corps the family moved to New Jersey where they eventually settled in Belmar. For nearly 30 years she worked for radio station WJLK. In 1999 the couple moved to Stevensville to be near family. She died at the age of 86.
