Henry J Nelson, 71, of 162 Columbus Ave, who was returned January 22 to Galesburg from Indianapolis, IN, after he had been missing more than a month, died Sunday at 3:05 PM in a Galesburg Hospital. He had been ill four weeks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the First and Puckett Funeral Home, where friends may call this evening. Burial will be in the Littleton Cemetery near Rushville.
Mr. Nelson departed Galesburg via bus December 7 for New Port Richey, FL, and was found December 8 lying in an Indianapolis street. He was unable to give any information about himself, Indianapolis police informed Galesburg authorities January 16 that Mr. Nelson was in the neurology ward of General Hospital at Indianapolis.
He had planned to visit his sister, Mrs. George (Myrtle) Berry, at New Port Richey.
A lifelong resident of Galesburg, Mr. Nelson was born here June 20, 1891. He retired as a steamfitter on the Burlington Railroad in 1956, after 42 years of railroad service. He was an overseas veteran of World War I.
Mr. Nelson, a 32nd Degree Mason, was a member of Vesper Masonic body, and First Baptist Church.
Besides the sister in Florida, he is survived by another sister, Miss Julia Nelson, and a brother, Roy A Nelson, both of Galesburg.
Mr. Nelson was married to Elva Irene Horney in Galesburg in April, 1937 and she died September 27, 1962.

Mrs. Clifford Pearson was organist. Burial was in the Littleton (Schuyler County) Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Hilling of the Littleton Methodist Church officiated at the graveside.
