UA Student Dies In Plane Crash

A 21-year-old University of Arkansas business administration student was among the 84 persons who died in the crash of a Braniff Electra prop-jet at Dawson, Tex., Friday.

He was identified as Fred Ryser of Houston, Tex.

He was a graduate of John Brown University and was an ordained minister in the Full Gospel Church, conducting revival services throughout the south, according to the Associated Press.

University of Arkansas records show that young Ryser was the son of the Rev. Fred Ryser Jr. of Houston and that he was a graduate student.

Young Preacher Dies in Crash

Fred Ryser, III, 21, who conducted a revival at the Faith Tabernacle east of Stilwell in February, was among the 84 persons killed in a plane crash Friday, May 3, near Dawson, Tex.

Ryser, formerly of Muskogee, had boarded the plane at Houston, Tex., en route to Amarillo to preach during the weekend.

He had attended Muskogee schools during his elementary grade years and would have graduated this month from John Brown University, Siloam Springs, Ark.

Survivors include: his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Fred Ryser Jr., and a brother, Tony, all of the home in Muskogee; his grandmother, Mrs. Fred Ryser, and an aunt, Mrs. Robert Motter, Jr., both of Muskogee.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Church in Houston, Tex. Interment was in a Houston cemetery.
