James Richard "Ricky" Nelson, 33, Deep Creek Road, died as the result of an automobile accident. He was the son of James Hubert Nelson and Billie Anne Weldon Nelson. He was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church, an equipment operator for Hayslett Mechanical Contractors, Inc., and enjoyed fishing and drag racing.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Ruby Ann Nelson, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Joyce Ann (Shannon) Newman, and Allison Darlene Sharp, both of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services at the Perryville Baptist Church with Rev. J. Tom Patterson and John Bailey officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bradshaw, James Martin, Brian Wiley, Stephen Guillen, Travis Scott Taylor and Doug Taylor. Honorary bearers will be the employees of Hayslett Mechanical Contractors, Inc.
Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery, Washington County.
