Painter. He was born in Kiev (Ukraine). He was a pioneer of geometric abstract art and one of the most important members of the Russian avant-garde. He created the style known as suprematism. Among his works Morning in the Country after Snowstorm, The Woodcutter, The Aviator, An Englishman in Moscow, Suprematist Composition, Running Man, Complex Presentiment: Half-Figure in a Yellow Shirt and Self Portrait. His grave was a cube designed by Nikolai Suetin, this cube and the urn with ashes of Malevich were destroyed in Second World War. Nowadays, there is an apartment block on the place of his gravesite.
