Kraemer, John "Artie"

John "Artie" Kraemer, age 82, of 88 West Albert Drive, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the family residence.

Artie was born January 24, 1930 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late John and Irene Duvall Kraemer. Artie served overseas during the Korean War with the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. After his honorable discharge he returned to Manitowoc and was employed with Mirro aluminum until he retired in 1992. On August 8, 1950 he married Jane Schmitt in Dubuque, Iowa. Artie was a member of the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time outdoors, and was also a very avid Green Bay Packer fan. Artie dearly loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren which brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Jane; one son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Kathryn Kraemer, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Irene and John Braun, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Heather (Randy) Strand; Cayla (Kory) Richardson; John Adam Braun; six great grandchildren: Kiana Strand; Chassidy and Dakota Richardson; Raven and Tayln Braun and Jolei Steger; one sister and brother-in-law: Joan and Gary Meyer, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Irene Kraemer; one brother: Elroy "Bucky" Kraemer.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88 at the funeral home immediately following the funeral services. Upon completion of the military rites a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.
