Virginia J. Stauber 91 died Sunday October 5, 2014 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Ginny was born October 4, 1923 to Edward and Laura (Parks) Sherman in Newport Kentucky and graduated from Dayton (Kentucky) High School. On June 27, 1943 she married Christian H. Stauber. Throughout the years Ginny and Chris lived in Northern Kentucky, Sidney Ohio, Jackson and Grand Rapids, Mich., and finally moved to Rochester in 1996. While in Sidney, Ginny started the Welcome Wagon program. She held many secretarial positions eventually becoming secretary/treasurer of Kavis Mask Company in Wyoming, Mich., which she and her husband founded in 1965.

Ginny had many interests and talents. She especially enjoyed gardening, needlework, playing bridge and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, Kent Garden Club of Grand Rapids and Chapter CK in Rochester. Ginny was a longtime and very active member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester where she was involved in UMW and served on the History and records Committee.

Survivors include one daughter, one son-in-law, one granddaughter, 2 Great grandsons, one brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and sister Marjorie Sherman.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 10, 20144 at 11AM at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Visitation will be Thursday October 9, from 5PM to 7PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
