Eugene was born May 2, 1932 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Herman and Helen (St. Antoine) Krueger. He attended elementary school and Washington High School in Two Rivers. Eugene served his country with the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. On June 13, 1953, he married Jean Stevens at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Eugene was employed with Hamilton Industries for several years, and later with Mirro Aluminum Co. where he retired in 1994. He was a longtime member of the Lakeshore Curling Club; he enjoyed golfing; hunting in Antigo at the Bluebird Lodge; fishing on his boat - known as the "Y-Knot"; and camping with family & friends.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jean; two sons & a daughter-in-law, Kerry and Denise Krueger of Manitowoc, and Keith Krueger of Memphis, Tennessee & special friend, Scott Frye; one daughter & son-in-law, Kathryn and Daniel Schuh of Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Christine (Tim) Meunier, Sandra (Jeff) DeVore, Melissa Bushman, Roger Bushman, Cory (Kim) Krueger, Rachelle (Joe) Bessert; and nine great grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Carol (Don) Swoboda, Two Rivers, Gloria (Michael) Kronforst, Minnesota; and brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws who include: Helen Krueger & friend, Fred Norelius of Arizona, Lew (Pat) Stevens, Mishicot, Janet (Bob) Kafka, Manitowoc, Donald (Bonnie) Stevens, Adell, and June Wagner of Kellnersville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Krueger; one sister & brother-in-law, Anna Marie (Joe) Blanchette; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 - 18th St. Two Rivers. Rev. Scott Stevens will officiate at the service, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, after 4:00 p.m. Thursday evening until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
