Edith C. Krueger, age 90, formerly of South 16th Street, Manitowoc, died Monday, November 14, 2011, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Edith was born on April 9, 1921, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Wacek) Lodl. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1939 from Lincoln High School. On August 5, 1939, she married Otto J. Krueger. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. She worked at Spahn's Bakery and JC Penneys where she was employed for 12 years, retiring in 1974. Edith was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild and the church choir for over 30 years. She was also a member of the friendship club, past president of the Machinist Auxiliary Lodge #516, past national vice-president of the International Association of Machinist Auxiliary, past president of the United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary, past president of the Amvets Auxiliary Post #99, and Sweet Adelines.

Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law: Howard W. (JoAnn) Krueger, Bradenton, FL; Karen Krueger, Englewood, FL; two grandchildren: Dan (Lynn) Krueger, Burlington; Brian Krueger and special friend Lisa Jones, Milwaukee; two great grandchildren: Kross Daniel Krueger and Burgen Elizabeth Krueger, Burlington; two step grandchildren: Karen (Jason) Foster, Bethel, CT; Greg (Jennifer) Sabo, Fairbanks, Alaska; six step-great grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law: Angie Lodl, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Otto Krueger; one son: David Krueger; one brother: Howard Lodl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011, at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Dr. Jim Klein will officiate. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
