A service will be held at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake, Tuesday, May 15, at noon. The Rev. Calvin LONG will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
Mr. STRAUCH was born March 31, 1927, in Owosso to Ward A. and Mary Pauline (HONECKER) STRAUCH. He lived most of his life in the Houghton Lake area. He married Doris E. BOUTWELL in 1950 in Lansing; his wife preceded him in death in 1982.
Mr. STRAUCH worked as an auditor for the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission before retiring in 1984. He attended Houghton Lake United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Houghton Lake Elks and VFW. He was also a member of the Houghton Lake Moose, American Legion and the Eagles (Florida). He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Surviving Mr. STRAUCH are his brother, Morley and wife, Betty STRAUCH of Midland; niece, Susan GREEN of Indiana; nephew, Travis BROWN of Indiana; and special friend, Marian TOPOLEWSKI of Florida.
