Mrs. Lona Haines Brown, 76, of Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, was dead on arrival at Washington Hospital at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 1970.
She was born June 23, 1894 (*), at Bluff, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Taylor Haines. Her husband, Joseph F. Brown, died in 1964.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg, Mrs. Brown resided in Amity for 35 years prior to living at Waynesburg and Washington.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Brown and Ralph B. Brown, both of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Mrs. Kenneth McAfee, of Amity, and Mrs. William C. Engle, of Millsboro; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Lemley, of Waynesburg.
Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
