Joseph Floyd Brown, 75, 262 East Lincoln Sttreet, Waynesburg, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1964, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital after being seriously ill for three months.
He was born October 3, 1888, in Ninevah, a son of the late Daniel F. and Sarah Elizabeth Shoup Brown.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waynesburg.
For 21 years he was employed as a conductor for the W & W Railroad. He later served with the company when it operated solely as a freight carrier.
He lived in Amity for 30 years, farming and stock raising.
He is survived by his wife, Lona Haines, whom he married August 5, 1911. Also surviving are two sons, J. Daniel Brown, and Ralph B. Brown, both of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and two daughters, Mary, wife of Kenneth McAfee, of Amity, and Elizabeth, wife of William C. Egle, Washington.
Also surviving are 15 grandchikldren, 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Clarence Edgar, of Waynesburg and several nieces and nephews.
