Earl R. Timbrook, 80, of 2645 12th, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He retired from Golden Foundry and at one time was a partner in Columbus Brass and Aluminum. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police.
Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. James McKinney at Columbus United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral home on Washington Street, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of East Columbus United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.
Timbrook was born June 2, 1905, in Bartholomew County, the son of Frank and Rose Disney Timbrook. He married Glethal I. Wilson June 8, 1928, and she died Nov. 21, 1978. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Morris Joslin, whom he married June 29, 1979.
Other survivors include a son, Joe Timbrook of Georgetown Road; a daughter, Wanda Carey of 2929 Indiana Ave.; a stepson, Larry Joslin of Carriage Estates; a brother, Robert Timbrook of Indianapolis; two sisters, Opal Lauri of Chesterfield and Ethel Franklin of California; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
