Major League Baseball Player. He was a catcher who played briefly for the St. Louis Browns in 1911 and 1912. But he is best known as the legendary scout who discovered many New York Yankees stars, including Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Phil Rizzuto and Charlie Keller. He was a scout from 1921 until his death. The right-handed hitter's lifetime batting average was .222 in 85 games.
