Miss Eleanor Lyle Hammond was born on February 4, 1885 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Andrew Freeborn Hammond (1847-1919) and Ellen Simpson (Lyle) Hammond (1851-1919).
She had been a resident of Davidson County, Tennessee for 17 years and was living at Rural Route 3, Nashville, some 5 miles out on Dickerson Road when, at the age of 56, she died at home of lung cancer. Burial was three days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
