William Thomas Tillman was born on February 1, 1886 in Trousdale County, Tennessee, the son of John T Tillman (1849-1925) and Jane (Bundy) Tillman (1861-1946).
He was married about 1908 to Johnnie (Baugh) Tillman (1893-1942), the daughter of Charles Baugh and Elizabeth (Miller) Baugh.
A resident of 1100 Meridian Street, Nashville, he was a railroad switchman, still married to Johnnie and 55 years old when he was shot and killed on November 22, 1941 at 5th Avenue South and Mulberry, Nashville. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
