Dorothy Lou Edmisson, 85, passed away on October 16, 2014. She was born in Windsor, Missouri on August 5, 1929 to Robert and Martha Bumpas.

After her high school graduation (and foregoing a music scholarship) Dorothy moved to Longmont, Colorado where she married the love of her life, Bill. After a few stints back and forth from Colorado to Missouri, they finally settled in Arvada, Colorado and that is where Dorothy devoted her time raising their five children. After the children were in school, Dorothy worked in the school district in several different capacities in an effort to be on the same schedule as her kids.

She later worked for Jefferson County Social Services for several years, and then volunteered for the Arvada Police Department for the remainder of her career.

Dorothy and Bill, along with two other couples, started Arvada Central Baptist church, which is where her services will be held.

Dorothy was a woman of faith and devoted to her church. There she spent many Sundays playing the piano or organ and singing in the church choir.

After Bill's death Dorothy relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to her daughters. She loved spending time with family and friends and always wanted to be in on the action. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a faithful friend to all whose lives she touched.

Dorothy was the "heart" of the Edmisson Family and her infectious smile will be missed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Edmisson.

She is survived by her two sons, Dave (Missy) and Rob (Michele) Edmisson; three daughters, Sharon (Glen) Gibson, Bonnie Thompson (Laurie) and Vicki (Doug) Corrion; and two sisters, Barbara Green and Donna Harmon.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, November 7, 2014 at Rising Church of Arvada (formerly Arvada Central Baptist Church), 7500 West 57th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado.

Private interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
