The earliest found descendant of Jacob Kaddy's is Alexander Kady/Kedy born 1709 in Scotland, England and died 7 Oct 1764 in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. On 2 Sep 1742 Westminster, Saint George Mayfair, London, England, Alexander married Mary Ann Periman; they were parents of 4 children: Ann(1743-1749), John William(1744-1817), Alexander(1748-1818) & John Robert Kady(1759-1845). Alexander(1748-1818) is buried in Bayview Cemetery, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. His headstone reads on the back: "Was given a grant from the King of England' to go to Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia and help establish this uninhabited region. The Kady/Kedy name was found spelled both ways interchangeably on census and birth/death indexes. Earliest spelling seems to have been Kady, later after immigration by Alexander Sr and his family to Nova Scotia, their surname is found as Kedy; later generations are found to have changed to two 'd's' and used Keddy. After immigrating his family to America in 1877, Jacob Keddy/Kaddy(1849-1926) began to use the Kaddy spelling. Jacob Kaddy descended from the following line of Kady/Keddy/Kaddy ancestors: Alexander(1709-1784), John William(1744-1817), Alexander Frederick(1783-1862), Charles(1814-1871). His parents were both Nova Scotia natives, Charles Keddy(25 Aug 1814-28 Feb 1871) & Eliza Julia Gillman(15 Oct 1850-28 Aug 1920). His siblings were: Sarah Jane(1842-1914), james Isaac(1844-1916), John Henry(1849-1906), Charles Henry(1850-1926), Caleb Edgar(1853-1928) & Eunice S Keddy(1854-1918). Jacob married On 3 May 1870 in New Rose, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Mary Mae Rosannah 'Rose Ann' Kedy/Keddy(15 Oct 1850 Chester, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada-28 Aug 1920 Fitchburg, Worcester, massachusetts).
