Major League Baseball Player. For six seasons (1987 to 1992), he was a pitcher with the Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates. Born Jeffery Mark Robinson, he played both basketball and baseball during his collegiate years at Azusa Pacific University. Signed by Detroit during the 3rd round of the 1983 Amateur Draft, he marked his Major League debut on April 12, 1987 and recorded 9 victories that year. He experienced postseason action, when he pitched in one game during the 1987 American League Championship series. The following season (1988), he produced career-highs in wins with 12 and strikeouts with 114, along with a 2.98 ERA. In 141 regular season games, he compiled a 40 win, 40 loss record with a lifetime 4.79 ERA in 708 innings pitched. After retiring as a player, he worked as a pitching instructor at a baseball academy. He is not to be confused with Jeffrey Daniel Robinson, a Major League pitcher from 1984 until 1992.
