OWLS HEAD - Terrence Keith Atkinson, 52, of Owls Head, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, following a short illness at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Terry was born in Oxnard, California, the son of Charles B. and Emily Doe Atkinson. As a teen Terry resided at the Pineland Center before moving to St. Albans, to the Sebasticook Farms, Square Rd Group Home, the Martin Rd and Mountain Rd residences where he spent 29 years, while attending their day program services under Skills Inc. He was currently residing at the Beacon Family Living in Owls Head.

Terry is survived by his mother, Emily Atkinson, his brother, Eric Atkinson, his sister, Esther Turmelle, and her husband, Joshua, his nephew, Sage Turmelle; and his niece, Aurora Turmelle, all of Waterville; as well as several, aunts, uncles and cousins in New England and California. Terry had a special charisma that allowed him to make friends wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by many.

A committal service will be held at Sunset View Cemetery in Norridgewock.

The family wishes to thank all those who were blessed to know Terry, and share his wonderful journey. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.
