Charles F. Caraker, Sr., 79, of Pana, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Heritage Health, Pana, Illinois.
He was born July 18, 1935 in Tams, Illinois the son of John F. & Blanch I. (Howard) Caraker. Charles had lived in Pana most of his life and worked at Schaper Poultry. He was a member of Teamsters Local #279, Decatur, IL and had attended the Lutheran Church.
Charles married Wanda N. Vance on November 25, 1966 in Mattoon, Illinois.
He is survived by his children: John E. Caraker, Pana, IL; James E. Caraker and wife Christina, Taylorville, IL; Jeffery E. Caraker and wife Jessicah, Taylorville, IL; Ruth Irene Hathaway and fiancé Brad Siebert, Vandalia, IL; Charles F. Caraker Jr. and wife Karen, Poplar Bluff, MO; Mary Lou Best and husband Randy, Winona, MO; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife on April 25, 2007; daughters: Earlene Irene Caraker and Charlotte Ann Caraker; brothers: Jackie Welch and Norman Caraker; sisters: Earlene Wallace, Sylvia Seiv, Pansy Neiss and Nellie Reynolds.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
