Brigadier General George Burbank Webster Jr. passed away on October 17, 2014 at The Army Residence Community, San Antonio, Texas. A private funeral will be held at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, with interment at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held at The Army Residence Community chapel, November 7 at 2:00pm.

General Webster was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 13, 1917. He was the first of five children born to Helen Marie Holton and George Burbank Webster. His mother, father, brother Henry, sister Mary all predeceased him.

He attended the University of Minnesota where he was a Cadet Colonel of the University of Minnesota Corps Of Cadets (ROTC). His active military service started immediately, June 20, 1939, at Ft Crocket, Texas (Galveston). He subsequently served in many domestic and international locations in positions of great responsibility. He retired from active duty, August 1, 1970 after 31 years of service. After retirement, General Webster managed an environmental advisory company whose primary business was with the oil industry in California and Alaska.

On July 19, 1940 he married Nancy Strother Davis, the daughter of Winifred Burr and Colonel Henry Clarence Davis. She died September 15, 1990. Later, he married Vera Curtis Elder, April 6, 1991, who died on November 19, 1999. On April 26, 2000, he married Margaret Lovett Pelton.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughter Helen Toward (Bill), Two grandchildren, Rick Toward (Sherry) and Nancy Tan (John), six great grandchildren, Hana, Harper, Masresha, and Alain Toward, Katie and Jack Tan, his sister Judith Nelson of Nevada City, California and brother Paul Dudley Webster of Wayzata, Minnesota.
