Actor. Commenced his career at Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg. Educated at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm 1923-1927. 1930-1941 he was employed at the Blanche Theatre in Stockholm, and subsequently at the Royal Dramatic Theatre for more than 30 years. He made his film debute 1932 in "Landskamp". He participated in more than 70 productions on film and TV. He closed his career acting in Louis Malles film "Lacombe Lucien" (1973), for which he received three different awards for Best Actor in a supporting role. In 1965 he was the O'Neill-scollar.
