Ralph Edward Brewer, Sr, was born in Evansville, Indiana. When he was 9 months old he was adopted by Hubert Ralph Brewer and Lydia Elvira Ramsay and they moved to Bedford Indiana where he went to elementary and middle school. When he was 14 or so the family moved to Tucson Arizona. He lost his dad on August 11, 1943 and shortly afterward he enlisted in the US Navy. In December of 1950, Ralph married the love of his life Mildred Lynn (lena Minnie) Tredemeyer while stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. They embarked on quite an eventful life in the Navy while raising 4 children, Gloria Lee, Ralph Edward Jr, Janice Lee and Rhonda Lee. After retiring from the Navy, Ralph then went to work for the US post office and he retired from that shortly before he passed.
