THEODORE BURGESS

Theodore Burgess, 67, died suddenly at his home in Schenectady yesterday morning.

Born in Troy July 12, 1888, he was a former employee of the New York State Department of Waterways. Before going to Schenectady at the time of his retirement in 1952, he had resided in Fort Hunter for 27 years.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Civil Service Association and had been employed by the state for 35 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Karl H. Spilker, Schenectady, with whom he resided; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Hughes, Troy, Mrs. William Gordon, Peekskill, and Mrs. Marshall Alden, East Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Fredrick Burgess, Troy, several nieces and nephews.

His wife was the late Martha Rowley Burgess.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fredrick H. Glock Funeral Home, 30 Jay St., Schenectady, with the Rev. Gerhardt R. Duessel officiating. Internment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
