A former employee of Cosco, Mr. Helt retired in the early 1990s from Seymour Housewares where he was vice president of sales. He was a graduate of Hope High School, where he played basketball, and served as a staff sergeant in the Air Police at Carswell Air Force Base in Texas.
He loved to spend time in Florida.
A private graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Patrick Galligar.
Arrangements were made by Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.

Born in Hope February 19, 1930, Mr. Helt was the son of Clarence and Nora Montgomery Helt. He married Barbara L. Foerster Aug. 28, 1951, at Fort Worth, TX.
