He was born March 19, 1919 in Albany, N.Y., the son of John J. Nolan Sr. and Rose Brumaghin Nolan. He was married Sept. 11, 1944 in New York to Jeannette Mossey, who survives.
He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church in Columbus, Ind., past president of Harrison Lake Country Club in Columbus, past president of the Indiana Manufacturers Association in 1985, member of the Columbus Elks Lodge, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, former member of the Bartholomew County Zoning Board and served as president of Lear Siegler Inc., in Seymour from 1970 until his retirement in 1984.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, John J. Nolan III, Brentwood, Tenn.; three daughters, Dianne N. Dickson, Salem, Va.; Mary Liz Hyer, Indianapolis, and Janice M. Wadsworth, Greensburg; one brother, James M. Nolan, Boston, Mass.; one sister, Mary M. Nolan, Albany, N.Y., and 25 grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Columba Catholic Church in Columbus, with Father Stephen Banet officiating.
Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be at the Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
A prayer service will be at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Area Hospice or St. Columba Catholic Church.
