Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 11 Sep 2009 - BARLOW, Ky. -- Services for Alton "Davy Crockett" Carmon, 85, of Barlow will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home of La Center with the Rev. Don Pippin officiating. Burial will be at Oscar Cemetery.
Mr. Carmon died at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
He was retired from Celtex Roofing Company in Wilmington, Ill.
Surviving are three sons, Junior and Donald Carmon and Dennis Lutomski; four daughters, Patsy Bailey, Betty Crawford, Linda Barton and Regina Carmon; one brother, Johnny Carmon; four sisters, Mary Jones, Bobby Walls, Ruby Goldsberry and Sterlena Beasley; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Carmon; one son, Rickie Joe Carmon; and two brothers. His parents were Robert Carmon and Tavie Beasley Carmon.
