Actress, Born in South Dakota, she made her acting debut in Canada and performed in London for the first time in 1938. She was one of the survivors of the sinking of SS Athenia, torpedoed by U30 on the day Britain declared war on Germany, September 3, 1939. Returning to North America to perform in 1941, she debuted in New York on Broadway later the same year in "Angel Street" opposite Vincent Price. Other Broadway credits include "The Rich Full Life,""Craig's Wife" and "The Shrike" opposite Jose Ferrer. Throughout her life, Evelyn traveled extensively with the theater, touring across the United States with several productions. Ms. Evelyn's many film and television appearances include "Rear Window," "Giant," Alfred Hitchcock Presents,""Hilda Crane," "Studio One" and many others. She passed away in New York City from cancer.
