On June 16, 1940 Dixie "Dix" Courtway wed Dorothea Lois Stites in Houston, Texas County, Missouri.This is confired by a newspaper article as follows:

Sunday, June 16, Miss Lois Stites , youngest daughter of Judge and Mrs. Stites, became the Bride of Dix Courtway, of Los Angeles , Calif., in a quiet ceremony preformed in the home of the brides parents.
Lois Stites, is one of Houston’s most popular and attractive young ladies and a school teacher of ability. She is a graduate of Houston High School and has attended Southwest State Teachers College, Springfield, M0. For the past year she has been employed in Beverly Hills, California.
Mr. Courtway is a gentleman of pleasing personality, who should be a desirable and trustworthy companion for the young lady of his choice. During his brief stay in Houston his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He is an employee of a telegraph company in Beverly Hills, California.
The marriage vows were read by Rev. J. R. Halbrook, in the presents of the following members of the brides family, Judge and Mrs. John S Stites, Mrs. Joe E Stites, Mr. and Mrs. Darwood Francis, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lynch , Mr. and Mrs. Earl Latham, Dean Camron, Lila and Dick Lynch, and Joyce Ann Francis.
Early Monday the newlyweds left to return to Beverly Hills, Calif., where they will make their home. Congratulations and Best Wisher of everyone go with Mr. and Mrs. Courtway as they begin their life’s journey together.
The 1940 Burbank, California, City Directory, published that Dix Courtway and wife had established a home at 804 N Edison blvd., Burbank, California.
On Aug. 27, 1951, Dix's beloved mother, Ora E. Colyer Courtway passed away in Los Angeles at the home of his sister, Irene Elizabeth Courtway Radich. Her body was shipped to Cape Girardeau Co. to be buried in a cemetery near where she was born.
On Dec. 16, 1974 death claimed Dix's dearly beloved Lois Stites Courtway. Lois was laid to rest in the Col. of Understanding at the beautiful Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, for her final resting place.
U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014 and California, Death Index, 1940-1997 confirms that Dix Courtway's spirit returned to God his maker on Sept. 25, 1977 in Los Angeles, CA.
