STREATOR — Margaret L. "Marge" Retoff, 89, of Streator, died at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 a.m. by her nephew, Dan Retoff. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Ryan Schmitz, Dan Jerde, Steve and Matthew Retoff, Ben Francis and Derek Washington.
Born March 24, 1920, in Streator, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Mary (Klein) Gayon. She married Louis G. Retoff on May 29, 1943, at St. Stephen's Church. He died Feb. 24, 1992.
She is survived by daughters, Karen Lynn (Joseph) Grygiel of Mars, Pa., and Diane (David) Schmitz and Marietta (Larry) Jerde, both of Streator; sons, Louis M. (Sandy) Retoff and Albert (Beth) Retoff, both of Streator; grandchildren, Dana, Stephen, Brittany and Matthew Retoff, Dan and Brandi Jerde, Ryan Schmitz and Krista Francis; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Mary Beth in infancy; a son, Ronald in infancy; and eight brothers and sisters. She was the last of her immediate family.
Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Stephen's Grade School. She worked through the years as a homemaker raising her five children. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church and St. Ann's Society.
