Dan was the youngest son of Zachariah T. Scott and Margaret Olinger. He was born in Plumcreek Township and moved to Kansas in the early 1890s with several others from Armstrong County, including members of the Lawton family. On 17 Oct 1895, he married Lorena E. Lawton.

Dan and Lorena spent the rest of their lives in Holton and raised their children there. He was a well known carpenter and general contractor in the local area.

There is no stone marking his plot, but he is no doubt next to Lorena and two of his sons.

Dan and Lorena had 9 known children together - what I've found so far is below.
1. Lloyd V. Scott (19 Jul 1896-5 Sep 1976) Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.
