Minnie Lewellen was the 1st child born to Charles William Lewellen and Diadema Post on Wednesday, 17 Jul 1878, in the rural area of Roane County, WV - her father being a farmer.

Minnie married Earl Stephen Bevan at the age of 21 on Christmas Eve [Sunday], 24 Dec 1899, at the home she had shared with her parents in rural Roane County, WV.

As of the 1910 census, which for Minnie and Earl Stephen was taken where they were living in rural Allegany County, Maryland, they had 4 children all of which were alive at the time of the census: Bessie Marie, Clara E, Goldie D and Millard E Bevan. {Please note: this is the last census on which the mother is asked the 2 questions: How many children have you had? and; How many children that you've had are still alive?}

By the 1920 census, enumerated for Minnie and Earl Steven's family in rural Harrison County, WV, they had 2 more sons born and living with them: William Henry and Harmon E Bevan. If they had any other children during this 10-year period this writer has no way of knowing, as previously noted.

Minnie and Earl Stephen did suffer through the loss of at least one of their sons that this writer knows about when on Monday, 8 Aug 1927, their 15-year-old son, William Henry Bevan, was killed when he ventured into a mine and it caved in on him.

She lost her husband on Tuesday, 8 May 1956, when he died in Monongalia General Hospital of bronchopneumonia (coincidentally the same primary cause that would take her own life almost 10 years later). Earl Stephen had, however, been living in Pugh's Nursing Home prior to contracting the bronchopneumonia that would be the immediate cause of his passing, the reason for which this writer, once again, doesn't know.

Minnie Lewellen Bevan passed away on Saturday, 23 Apr 1966, at her home in Morgantown, Monongalia County, WV. The primary cause of her death being, as previously alluded to, bronchopneumonia.

She was a very distant relation and ancestor of mine. I trust I have written a biography worthy of her with what little concrete evidence I have had to go on.
