A lifelong Hays businessman, Peter P. Billinger, 113 W. 17th, died Tuesday at St. Anthony Hospital following a long illness. He was 67.

Billinger operated Pete's Print Shop and Pete's Rubber Stamp Service at Hays. He also was a former employee of the Ellis County Star and the Ellis County Farmer. In addition, he had been a butcher, a carpenter and owner of Abbie's Cafe. A Hays resident since 1925.

Surviving are three sons, Peter, Russell, Donald, Denver, and Robert, Hays; six brothers, W. J., Hays, Adam, Hapeville, Ga., Michael, Hays, Alvin, Hays, Joseph, Warsaw, Mo., and Robert, Hays; four sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Margaret) Beilman, Mrs. Cyril (Catherine) Walters, Mrs. Rosemary Karlin and Mrs. Wilbert (Lee Ann) Pfeifer, all of Hays; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha.

Services 10 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church; church cemetery. An altar society rosary is set for 4 p.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel. It will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. D of I rosary and an 8 p.m. parish wake. Friends may call at Brock's until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 1-9 p.m. Thursday.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
