Julieta "Julie" Maravilla Mercurio went to be with her heavenly Father on July 2, 2014 with her beloved family surrounding her. For Julie, family was an integral and important part of her life. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, nurturing sister, caring daughter and loving aunt.
Born on February 14, 1950 to Leonardo and Maria Maravilla in Dingle, Iloilo, Philippines, she began her journey in life as the fourth of seven children. She attended school at the University of San Agustin where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; emphasis in Accounting. Julie met her husband, Henry Mercurio in 1972 in Guam, and they later married in the states in 1978. Henry and Julie shared a loving 36-year marriage and have one son, Mario.
Julie was very involved with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement and her devotion and faith to her Lord and the Catholic Church was very strong. Everyone who encountered Julie experienced her infinite love, grace and generosity.
She is survived by her mother, Maria, her only brother Romeo (Helen), her sisters, Marietta (Rodolfo), Virginia (Efrain), Lourdes (Michael), Filipinas (Erick), Concepcion, her son, Mario (Christy) and her loving husband, Henry. She will also be greatly missed by all of her nieces and nephews. We all know that Julie will be watching us from heaven, illuminating us with her love.
