Born in Bremen, Germany, the son of Christian Gottlieb Otto Beisser and Emma Gaumann, he completed his apprenticeship as a metzger (sausage maker) and emigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1929; initially worked for his brother Heinz there, then at the Hoy Sausage Co. for 18 years and later moved to Batavia, Wisconsin, where he operated his own meat market for 11 years.

He was survived by his widow, the former Magdalene Burkard, two daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara) Somers of Milwaukee, Marie Kristin at home, two sons, Christian R and Michael, both at home, his mother, Emma Beisser, a brother Otto, both in Sulingen, Germany, and a sister , Mrs. Franz (Sophie) Kuhl, in Bremen.
