On June 1, 1946, he married Janell Dale Simmons in the Laclede Methodist Church. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Glenn moved to Laclede from Rothville entering Laclede High School as a junior, graduating in May 1942.

He was inducted into the Army in January 1943, training at Camp Santa Anita, CA, and was sent to England with the 458th Ordnance Evacuation Company.

He was awarded five bronze stars and honorably discharged in 1945, arriving home on Thanksgiving Eve.

He participated with other WWII Veterans on the Honor Flight in 2010.

After returning from service, Glenn and Junior Evans formed the partnership of Evans and Holloway Feed Store.

Glenn later sold his portion of the business and became a partner with his father-in-law, Hilton D. Simmons, farming and raising registered Charolais cattle.

Glenn became Laclede Postmaster in 1963, retiring in 1983.

An active member of the Laclede United Methodist Church, Glenn had served as Sunday School Superintendent and Administrative Board Chairman.

He also served on the Laclede School Board and later the Brookfield R-III School Board from 1962-1966, during which time real estate was purchased for the current campus.
