Celebrated Fiftieth Anniversary of Wedding Only Short Time Ago-Leaves Six Sons
Mrs. Jean McKelvie Lemon Hoover, who with her husband had but a short time ago celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding, died suddenly late yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Hoover, who was seventy-two years old, had been for many years a resident of the National Capital, and had been ill but a few days. Her husband, William H.H. Hoover, is an emloyee of the District government and a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Lemon family, well know for a period of years in connection with the affairs of the city.
She leaves six sons, S. Lemon, William H.H., jr; George W., Frank, Charles and Eugene. All have been lifelong residents of Washington. At the seventeenth anniversary celebraton of the wedding of her son, William H.H. Hoover , jr., recently, the mother was present and entertained the family gathering by singing a number of the old-time melodies now so seldom heard.
Arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.
